Welcome to Emmanuel Baptist Church.

We believe that love and respect should govern the way we interact with one another. No matter where you come from, who you are, or how you identify yourself, there is a place for you here at Emmanuel.

COMING UP…

SUMMER KIDS CAMP
JULY 6TH-10TH

This Season at Emmanuel…

We as a church strongly believe that life is meant to be lived not in isolation but in community and that the truest picture of community is one that is open, inclusive, and governed by love and respect. The problem, of course, is that we live in the shadows of empires that are built on values that create systemic injustices that harm many people around the world with hierarchies, exclusion, oppression, and exploitation.

The movement of Creator has always been to create community in a way in which humanity thrives. It is a motion of love that works to unite and to set things right.

Not unlike the times we find ourselves in, a prophet named Micah asked an important question amidst the injustice and violence the people of Israel were living through. 'What does God expect of us?' The answer given back to Micah was to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly. This kind of living works to push back against the systems and practices that steal life from people. This kind of living creates inroads and possibility for people to find community and to their place at the table set for all of us.

This summer we are going to explore what it means to live into doing justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly. What does it look like in practice? How do we align ourselves in this way of living? How do we get it wrong at times? And how this kind of living brings healing and life?

You're invited to join us on Sunday morning at 10:30 am for our weekly community gathering. You can also watch the livestream of our service.

For all things rising

out of the hiddenness of shadows

out of the weight of despair

out of the brokenness of pain

out of the constrictions of compliance

out of the rigidity of stereotypes

out of the prison of prejudice;

A Prayer for All Things Rising

for all things rising

into life, into hope

into healing, into power

into freedom, into justice;

we pray, O God,

for all things rising.
