At Emmanuel Baptist Church, we practice ‘believer’s baptism’, which means that persons are baptized after they have made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ. Baptism classes are scheduled every couple of months and provide information on what baptism is all about. Once a person has decided to be baptized, he or she may contact a pastor and arrange a date and time for their baptism.
Classes may be in person or on Zoom, depending on participants’ preference.

Membership in the Emmanuel Family is open to anyone (16 years or older) who has responded to Jesus’ invitation to follow him and who has been baptized.  A person becomes a Member by affirming the Emmanuel Membership Covenant. By signing the covenant, they confirm their personal commitment to Jesus Christ, their baptism, and their sincere desire to be an active part of the Church. As Baptists we affirm and practice believer’s baptism, but we will accept into membership persons who were baptized and confirmed in other traditions and who, out of personal conviction, do not wish to be re-baptized, providing that such persons are prepared to respect our tradition regarding believer’s baptism.

Membership Classes are held every couple of months. This class will help you think through the importance and meaning of church membership. It will introduce you to Emmanuel’s history, structure, statements, vision, mission and values. At the end of the Membership Class, you will be invited to sign a membership covenant which outlines your commitment to the church. Once the covenant is completed, signed and submitted to the church office, you are a member!

Classes may be in person or on Zoom, depending on participants’ preference.
